Arnab's arrest

On 4th Nov, 2020 CID(Crime Investigation Department) and Mumbai Police arrested Arnab Goswami the owner of Republic TV for Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik suicide case. As news stared spreading all over social media and internet many small clips also came out in which police ask arnab to come with them and in other police took arnab to jail forcefully and in some clips arnab told that his son was beaten by police. Some people criticized it and some suppurated Mumbai police.

Why Arnab got arrested?

Interior Designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik dead body was at their in Alibag in May, 2018. After the post-mortem came which confirmed that anvay had committed a suicide and his mother gad been strangulated and did not commit suicide. Police found a suicide note written by anvay naik and he claimed that he and his mother are going to take an extreme step on account of payments due to them not being cleared by owner of three companies. According to suicide note, his firm Concorde Design Pvt. Ltd. was owed this much amount by 3 companies.

 

Arnab Goswami of Republic TV = Rs. 83 lakh(112 thousands dollars)

Feroz Shaikh of IcastX/skimedia = Rs. 4 crore(540 thousands dollars)

Nitiesh Sarda of Smartworks = Rs. 55 lakh(74 thousands dollars)

Police concluded that anvay and his mother was mentally depressed due to money owed by these 3 companies and committed suicide. Republic TV denied for all these claims and said that they had made all payments. The local Raigad police started investigate but they didn't find any proof so case closed in April, 2019.

           But in May, 2020 Anvay daughter approached the Home Minster of Maharashtra Mr. Anil Deshmukh to reopen the case(In 2018 their was BJP govt. in Maharashtra and in 2020 their is Shiv Sena govt.). Anil deshmukh than transferred the case from Mumbai police to CID and on 15 Oct, 2020 court granted for investigating and investigation started again. And on 4th November CID and Mumbai police arrested all 3 accuse. 

After arresting police took all 3 accuse to Raigad District court where all three accuse got 14 days judicial custody. Police ask for arnab custody and said arnab is big personality and can cause problem in investigation but court denied to give custody and court also denied the assault on arnab by police. 

Final Conclusion

Public has mixed opinion about this some them are supporting Mumbai Police but some of them are not. Many BJP party leaders and big personalities also criticized Mumbai police for using the law and power of govt. for taking their own revenge on arnab because arnab is questing to Mumbai police for their work.

    But all these are politician are doing the same thing in state for example on 5 Octuber 2020 UP police arrested a Malayalam journo when he covering the news on Hathrash or 16 July, 2020 when Assam police arrested a journo Rajiv Sharma only because he was investigating on cattle smuggling or 3 Sep, 2019 when UP police arrested a journo when he exposed mid-day meal scam at Mirzapur School where students were eating chapati with salt.

        It is also clear that Mumbai police is targeting on arnab because he is criticizing the Mumbai govt. and Police. This is not the only case which is on Arnab or Republic TV through last few months arnab name has been seen many cases like TRP(Television Rating Point) fraud etc. so it is wrong that right now Mumbai Police is doing and I do not support this and I also don't like journalism of Arnab his news show is like hate speech.
